Treatment of osteoarthrosis of the knee with folk remedies

The successful treatment of osteoarthrosis of the knee joint with folk remedies (like medicines, gymnastics) depends on several factors. These nuances are determined by the attending physician only after an accurate diagnosis – only then the use of methods makes practical sense. All the proposed actions for the sufferer of an unpleasant and progressive disease will have to be coordinated with the doctors, since manipulations and home remedies can conflict with the already prescribed course of drug treatment, have various contraindications about the presence of other diseases in the patient.

The main causes of osteoarthrosis

Osteoarthrosis of the knee joint is a form of arthrosis. It is characteristic that the disease develops rather slowly, as if gradually progressing, affects patients after forty years. Although, according to statistics, pathology in the current situation is significantly “younger”. This is due to the realities of the metropolis: a “sedentary” lifestyle, lack of movement, poor nutrition, bad habits – a number of factors that “trigger” the mechanism of the disease.

But the overwhelming majority of patients are still elderly people, and the limited functionality of the knee joints here can be associated with deterioration of the body and cartilage. But when fairly regular knee pains had already begun, the disease turned into a neglected form. The sooner you start treating osteoarthritis of the knee, the better. The main causes of the manifestations of the disease include:

  • overweight, the reasons for which are: an age-related decrease in metabolism, improper diet, the absence of “sparing” training for the body, a sedentary lifestyle. The mechanism is simple: extra pounds give an increased load, and the joints are more susceptible to wear;
  • increased loads associated with professional or sports activities. Here everything looks “exactly the opposite”: it is not a lack that affects it, but an oversupply;
  • injuries to the ankle or knee joints.

There are risk groups for the disease, which include professional athletes, people who are “overweight”, patients who have suffered knee injuries, women and men after forty years, and those who have varicose veins on their legs, menopausal women, those who has a hereditary predisposition to this disease. Osteoarthrosis of the knee joints develops gradually, therefore, timely treatment to a doctor is important. Timely treatment is a chance to avoid restrictions on movement and irreversible changes in the joints, subsequent disability.

The main symptoms of the disease

  • the appearance of a crunch in the knees (especially after physically active actions or at the end of the working day);
  • swelling in the patella;
  • pain when climbing stairs.

Examination: arthroscopy

It is visually impossible to examine the internal fragments of the knee joint. And on the x-ray information for making an accurate diagnosis is not enough. What should the patient do if urgent diagnosis of joint pathologies is needed? For this, an arthroscopy procedure has been developed.

Arthroscope is a medical device that is equipped with lenses with special lighting. It is inserted into a small incision above the diseased joint. Light penetrates the joints through the technical fiber, and a miniature camera gives an image on the monitor, where a specialist doctor can carefully examine the joint from the inside, diagnose the alleged pathologies, and in some cases even eliminate them. The manipulation itself is not too painful and will not require a long time for subsequent rehabilitation. And the patient “returns to duty” in 2-6 weeks.

Life is on the move!

There is an opinion: with sick knee joints, all that is required is to lie down and move less. And it is fundamentally wrong! “Movement is life” – this statement best reflects its need for those people who have similar diseases. In the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee joint (to relieve pain), the patient is recommended physiotherapy exercises (exercise therapy). Regular exercise can strengthen the muscles, reduce the load on the diseased segments of the musculoskeletal system, and activate blood circulation in these areas.

An individual course of exercises is developed for each patient by a specialist doctor. The choice of exercises depends on the degree of development of the disease, and on the physical condition of the patient. Exercise therapy should not be dynamic – rather, sparing, not exerting excessive physical exertion on painful joints. It is not recommended, for example, to perform multiple deep squats. Traditional complex:

  • to strengthen and restore muscle volume, you can do this exercise: lie on your back, raise one leg up and hold it for 2 minutes. Fatigue in the muscles appears over time, but the knee joint does not experience strong physical exertion;
  • Stretching the joint capsules with ligaments is useful for strengthening muscles. Exercise should be done measuredly and smoothly, stretching the legs in turn and easily pressing on the joint. If the movement causes pain or discomfort, then you must immediately stop performing.

Exercise therapy is undesirable to practice during exacerbations of the disease.

Additional Methods

Additional treatment methods include massage, manual and acupuncture, cryo- and magnetotherapy, treatment with leeches, electrophoresis with novocaine, a heat treatment with paraffin or healing mud, cauterization with wormwood, and traditional medicine.

Folk remedies

The various manipulations that the so-called “wisdom of generations” offer us are effective as additional methods. A radical recovery, if the disease has already gone far, should not be expected. As well as to perceive alternative methods of treatment, as a panacea for all possible diseases. Before using this or that remedy, it is necessary to consult with your doctor (and in no case should you prescribe a course on your own), since some drugs and formulations may come into conflict with the medication already prescribed by the doctor.

I have been treating joints for many years. I can say with confidence that the joints are always treatable, even in the very ripe old age.

Hondrostrong is an innovative drug that is created to combat joint diseases. It helps with arthritis, arthrosis and other diseases. Thanks to the use of cream, joint mobility quickly returns. Damaged cartilage tissue is regenerated, which prevents the further development of the problem.

Hondrostrong gel for joints

Our medical center was the first to receive certified access to the latest drug for osteochondrosis and joint pain - Hondrostrong. I confess to you when I heard about it for the first time, I just laughed, because I did not believe in its high efficiency.

But I was amazed when we completed testing: 4567 people were completely cured of diseases of the organs of the musculoskeletal system, and this is more than 94% of all subjects. 5.6% felt significant improvement, and only 0.4% did not notice any improvement.

Hondrostrong cream allows you to forget about back and joint pain in the shortest possible time, literally from 4 days, and even very difficult cases can be cured within a couple of months. In addition, the manufacturer of this product is now offering a 50% discount of the full cost of Hondrostrong cream.

Soda, vinegar, massage

  • If swelling of the knees is observed, then first we remove it. In the evening, dissolve two tablespoons of baking soda in a tablespoon of heated water. With the resulting mass, we wet the cotton fabric and wrap the knee. So that it doesn’t leak, we also put cellophane on top, and then wrap it with a warm woolen scarf, we fix the resulting design with a bandage. Keep the compress on our knees until the morning. Repeat the procedure for a week – swelling should go away;
  • take apple cider vinegar (two tablespoons) and the same amount of warm water. In the same way as in the previous version, do a compress (hold it all night). In parallel, in the morning and in the evening, you need to take a tablet of ordinary (not effervescent) aspirin and diclofenac. The course is 1 month.

If you have problems with the stomach or intestines, you should consult your doctor before taking Aspirin and Diclofenac. In addition to the course, you can apply massage of the knee joint. But it is better to find an experienced massage therapist and take a course with him.

Even “neglected” joint problems can be cured at home! Just remember to smear it once a day.

In the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee joint, medicinal herbs are used.

It is necessary to pick 5-7 leaves of burdock and stack them in a pile (rough side down). Lubricate with vegetable oil (sunflower, corn, olive, flaxseed) knee joint, and then apply a stack of burdock leaves to the sore spot. We wrap it with cellophane, knit it with a woolen scarf and fix it for the night. In the morning we shoot. Repeat for a week.

Birch leaves

Gathered in spring, young leaves of birch are steamed with boiling water. We cover them with the knee joint (the total thickness of the raw material should be at least two centimeters). We wrap all this with cellophane, wrap it up warmly. We keep the compress throughout the night. In the morning we shoot. Repeat seven days.

Juice of celandine

Soak a cotton-gauze dressing with this juice. We wrap a sore joint for 45 minutes. We repeat seven days (you need to conduct three such courses intermittently).

Before the procedures, we warm the knee joints well (this can be done with a heating pad). When the skin of the knee turns pink, generously lubricate it with natural bee honey. We make such a honey compress – it is possible with a light massage of the knee – for a quarter of an hour. Then apply a compress of burdock leaves. The pain should go through several procedures.

Grind the horseradish root in a meat grinder or rub on a grater. Then the raw material is steamed over low heat, but so that the liquid does not boil. We spread the composition on gauze and apply it to the knee joint. We wrap cellophane on top, wrap it warmly. Hold the compress for up to half an hour (or until a tolerant burning sensation appears), then remove. We repeat 15 days.

Onion decoction

Cook the onions with husks in a saucepan until they are completely boiled. Filter and cool. We drink a decoction shortly before a meal in a glass (you need to drink the entire amount). With a break, the course can be repeated.

Maclura tincture (Adam’s apple)

It is not required to clean the fruit itself; all its parts will go to the tincture. We cut a few pieces, put it in a glass jar (1 liter) and fill it with two-thirds medical alcohol or strong (up to 70 degrees) double-brewed moonshine (vodka is a little weak, or you will have to insist for an even longer time). We remove the capacity in a dark place with room temperature. Tincture costs about six months (at least three months); some experts insist a year. The tool from the macaroni for compresses and grinds should turn brown (instead of the original green). The treatment consists in rubbing the joints with the obtained product.

  • We take a section of a bandage or cotton cloth and moisten it with tincture quite abundantly;
  • with this bandage we wet the affected area so that it is noticeably wet;
  • grind until the tincture is completely dry;
  • wrap the treated knee area with something warm, for example, with a wool scarf (it is best to do this before bedtime). Repeat the procedure for a week.

It is worth reminding once again to each potential patient: before proceeding with the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee with folk remedies, you need to consult a specialist doctor who is observing you. He will evaluate the possibility and effectiveness of folk treatment methods. And before you make a decision to follow any additional course, you must pass an examination. Do not trust charlatans and the “help” of the Internet. Such an approach can do much harm! And to listen to the opinion of a doctor is a reasonable decision for everyone who protects health.
